TR&GC is planning a more relaxing, enjoyable shooting range

Tucson Rod and Gun Club is planning the construction of a non-profit, public shooting range on the east side of Tucson on federal land in the Redington Pass area. This range will be surrounded by federal land, well over four miles from the nearest private land, so there can never be a conflict with nearby homes.

This shooting range will be a non-profit, public shooting facility. The name of the range will be Redington Pass Public Shooting Range. All shooters will be welcome. No membership is necessary. The range will be operated with the goal of providing a special shooting experience for gun owners. We will welcome shooter input on the way the range will be operated and the types of shooting events and shooting venues that provide a relaxing and fun shooting experience.

We're planning venues for rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting. We also plan a separate gun safety training range, a long range rifle range up to 600 yards and an organized events range for special group shooting events, such as CAS, IPSC and IDPA. The shotgun range will offer standard trap shooting as well as traditional sporting clays shooting.

For more information please call us at 749-3283.

If you agree with what we are doing please consider supporting this project as we work to provide a safe place to shoot in Tucson.

Obtaining a permit to build a shooting range on federal land is not a simple process. Sometimes what seems to be a simple task can take an extraordinary amount of time to accomplish due to federal regulatings and potential conflicts. At times the required permitting and environmental assessment processes can become complicated and unpredictable, causing further delays.

But these days convoluted regulations and bureaucratic delays are par for the course for any proposed construction on public lands and we're thoroughly committed to seeing this process through.

Meanwhile we continue to raise funds to make sure that we're prepared for any unexpected financial twists and turns in the permitting process. We have many gun owners and local and national businesses supporting this project. We also welcome your contribution in whatever amount you choose to give, whether it might be $10 or as much as $200 or more. We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization. All contributions go to support the shooting range project.

Your support will help make sure that gun owners will have a safe place to shoot for the future.
